A note from Dr. Brown:

I decided to become a therapist because I was always curious about what makes people tick. It's been the most rewarding journey to stand (or sit!) alongside my clients as they courageously look at their lives with curiosity and an openness to learn and grow. My personal therapy style is best described as direct, humorous, and most importantly, one that prioritizes mutual respect. In my spare time I enjoy riding my bike, hanging out with my dog, and traveling.

Dr. Brown‘s clinical work is informed by evidence-based treatments including Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RODBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure Response Prevention Therapy (ERP), and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). She is fully trained in RODBT, and received the 2019 RODBT Clinical Scholar award, which was awarded to her by Dr. Tom Lynch, the treatment developer of RODBT. Dr. Brown has presented nationally on topics including the treatment of RODBT for chronic depression and eating disorders.

While her office is located in downtown Chicago next to Millenium park for in-person sessions, she also welcomes and serves clients for online therapy from anywhere in Illinois. Clients from the Chicagoland area may choose in-office or online therapy and usually commute from surrounding areas such as River North, South Loop, West Loop, Gold Coast, Old Town, Lincoln Park, Lake View, Logan Square, Wicker Park, Bucktown and many more. Dr. Brown also has an office in Evanston.
