A note from Aisha:

What I enjoy most about being a therapist is having the ability to work collaboratively with individuals as they uncover new aspects of themselves on their healing journey. My style as a therapist is calm, supportive, goal-oriented guidance that taps into highlighting your strengths. I believe that building healthy relationships, with ourselves and others, is foundational to our wellness. In my spare time I enjoy creating art and spending time with my family, my joyful daughter and husband, and friends.

Aisha’s approach to therapy is tailored to meet the needs of each individual client, aiding them in achieving their identified goals. Aisha utilizes approaches in therapy that integrate Dance/Movement Therapy techniques, is guided by Attachment Theory, CBT, and Social Learning Theory. Attention to diversity, equity and inclusion is foundational to all of Aisha’s work.

Aisha received her Bachelors in Psychology from Bates College, and Master’s in Dance/Movement Therapy & Counseling from Columbia College Chicago. As part-time faculty at Columbia she taught Social and Cultural Foundations and clinical practicum. Aisha was trained as a private birth doula and taps into this knowledge base to support parenting individuals as they navigate the parenting transition. Aisha has worked as a clinician, and in leadership, supporting individuals in private practice, home, school and community based mental health. She has also provided services and developed clinical programming for individuals connected through IDCFS, Alternative Schools Network, and Chicago Public Schools. She has also trained nationally on topics related to embodied practice, ethics, cultural competence, supervision, and wellness.
