A note from Krina:

It is inevitable that life can be challenging and often times, we feel stuck and need reminders that we are not alone in challenging times. I decided to become a therapist because helping people has always been a calling of mine. I learned early on that providing support to other people, especially in dark times, was both rewarding and fulfilling and I couldn’t see myself doing any other work! I feel grateful and honored that clients have chosen me to join alongside with them on their journey through life, all while being able to validate and provide feedback in return.

My personal therapeutic style can be described as genuine, empathic, and non judgmental. The ways that I practice self-care are by cooking my favorite meals, spending time with my family & friends, and binge-watching reality TV.

“We don't have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to.”

― Brené Brown

Krina’s approach to therapy varies as each client has a unique story of their own and she believes that each client deserves tailored and individualized care. Krina will start by getting an understanding of what goals you would like to achieve in therapy and will then create a treatment plan collaboratively. She pulls from your strengths and values, and will work with you to unpack unhelpful thinking patterns and maladaptive behaviors. She will explore alternative coping skills that you can utilize that are more productive. Krina will typically incorporate evidence-based practices into her sessions including CBT, DBT, Behavioral Activation and Mindfulness.

Krina holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. She specialized in mental health and completed her graduate level internship at NorthShore University Health System’s Partial Hospitalization Program, facilitating group therapy with emerging adults diagnosed with mental health disorders. Krina then moved on to work at NorthShore University Health System’s inpatient psychiatric unit where patients ages 12-24 were admitted for mental health crises. Most recently, she worked at the Partial Hospitalization Program and Intensive Outpatient Program at Rogers Behavioral Health, conducting group therapy and individual sessions, as well as working in the emergency room as a crisis worker.

While her office is located in downtown Chicago next to Millenium park for in-person sessions, she also welcomes and serves clients for online therapy from anywhere in Illinois. Clients from the Chicagoland area may choose in-office or online therapy and usually commute from surrounding areas such as River North, South Loop, West Loop, Gold Coast, Old Town, Lincoln Park, Lake View, Logan Square, Wicker Park, Bucktown and many more.
