A note from Danielle

I decided to become a therapist because therapy was an integral part of my personal growth and healing. Change can be difficult, and I feel honored to walk alongside my clients on their journeys towards their goals. While I care deeply about the individual, I also recognize the impact of our economic and social systems on mental health. I believe that a trusting relationship between client and therapist is essential, and I take care to build a relationship based on mutual respect and safety. My therapy style is compassionate, direct, supportive, and relaxed. In my free time, I love to hike with my dog Ozzie, watch football, play music, grab food with friends, and travel anywhere.

Danielle utilizes interventions informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-Based Sobriety, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. Danielle’s approach to therapy is warm, engaging, collaborative, and empathic. She uses a strengths-based and non-judgmental approach to assist clients with building adaptive coping skills.

Danielle is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago’s Master of Social Work program. Prior to entering private practice, Danielle worked in community mental health as a counselor in an intensive outpatient program for people with substance use disorders and severe mental health issues.

She has experience providing assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, and community-based recovery support services. Danielle also co-created and led Illinois’ first community support team exclusively for people with substance use disorders. She is guided by the principles and values of harm reduction, social justice, and person-centered care.

While her office is located in downtown Chicago next to Millenium park for in-person sessions, she also welcomes and serves clients for online therapy from anywhere in Illinois. Clients from the Chicagoland area may choose in-office or online therapy and usually commute from surrounding areas such as River North, South Loop, West Loop, Gold Coast, Old Town, Lincoln Park, Lake View, Logan Square, Wicker Park, Bucktown and many more.
