A note from Julie:

My curiosity for why people do what they do, desire for change in the world and wanting to find ways to help those around me is what initially drew me to the field of psychology.  Being a part of people’s journeys and witnessing the change that can happen in people’s lives is ultimately what solidified my choice to pursue my path to becoming a therapist. My therapy style is best described as down to earth, humorous and direct! I am not “to the book” nor have a set session by session guide, rather I adjust therapy to ones unique personality, needs and life differences. In my free time I’m often planning my next big adventure, chasing sunsets, practicing yoga or reading and learning about pretty much any topic I can think of - And of course spending time with loved ones and my adorable dog!

Julie is dedicated to integrating Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into her therapeutic work. These evidence based approaches provide her clients with the necessary skills and strategies to be better equipped to manage life’s challenges.

While her office is located in downtown Chicago next to Millenium park for in-person sessions, she also welcomes and serves clients for online therapy from anywhere in Illinois. Clients from the Chicagoland area may choose in-office or online therapy and usually commute from surrounding areas such as River North, South Loop, West Loop, Gold Coast, Old Town, Lincoln Park, Lake View, Logan Square, Wicker Park, Bucktown and many more.

Additionally, Julie authors articles for Eating Disorder Hope.
