____

Depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and general life stressors.

A note from Anissa:

became a therapist because of my passion for helping others and experiencing how powerful and liberating therapy can be. It’s rewarding standing with clients as they find their voice, observe their strengths, and create changes to bring more meaning and fulfillment to their lives. My personal therapy style can be best described as empathetic, understanding and client centered. I am ready to meet you where you are at, listen compassionately and work together to achieve your goals. In my spare time I enjoy dancing, singing, spending time with family and friends and teaching my dogs, Nala and Bella, tricks.

Anissa holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Dominican University. While completing her master’s degree, she interned at PCC Community Wellness Center at Steinmetz High School and at Riveredge Hospital in the adolescent inpatient unit. Before pursuing private practice, she worked in community, inpatient and partial hospitalization programs providing therapeutic services in English and Spanish.

Anissa’s therapeutic approaches and interventions are rooted in evidence-based practices deriving from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She utilizes a strengths-based approach to foster an environment that promotes growth, strength, and change.
