A note from Jennifer:

I decided to become a therapist because I wanted to support others through life challenges and create a comfortable space where meaningful change can occur. It is an honor and a privilege to be entrusted with the thoughts, feelings, and struggles of my clients. My personal therapy style is best described as transparent, relaxed, and tailored to each individual. I value collaboration with my clients to create a custom and holistic treatment plan that takes into account physical, mental, spiritual, and social needs. I also seek to incorporate humor into our sessions when appropriate. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, playing with my dog (an adorable rescue mix!), spending time outdoors, and traveling.

Jennifer creates a safe and supportive space for her clients by using a client-centered and strengths-based approach. Her therapeutic work is informed by evidence-based practices such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP). Jennifer is very collaborative during session and works with clients to bring awareness to patterns of thoughts and behaviors that have developed over time.

Jennifer holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago.

Prior to joining Cityscape Counseling, she worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings within the healthcare system. During her time at Northwestern Medicine, she worked with adults struggling with chronic illness and adjustment to a new diagnosis as part of the transplant program and general medicine unit. At University of Illinois at Chicago, she worked in the Neuropsychiatric Institute, where she treated adults with mood and anxiety disorders as well as psychosis. She completed her clinical internship at Evanston Hospital, Inpatient Psychiatry.

While her office is located in downtown Chicago next to Millenium park for in-person sessions, she also welcomes and serves clients for online therapy from anywhere in Illinois. Clients from the Chicagoland area may choose in-office or online therapy and usually commute from surrounding areas such as River North, South Loop, West Loop, Gold Coast, Old Town, Lincoln Park, Lake View, Logan Square, Wicker Park, Bucktown and many more.
